Student Assistant Positions

The Learning Center is no longer accepting applications for Student Assistant positions. Please check back in November 2019. 

 To apply for any of the student assistant (SA) positions below, please submit the following application materials:

  • Current resume with professional references (Media Assistants should include 1-2 faculty references)
  • Student Assistant Application with completed schedule of availability
  • Most recent unofficial transcripts
  • FWS award verification letter
  • Advertising Assistant only : 3-5 graphic design samples
  • Media Assistants only: 1-2 minute reel

Support positions are typically paid $12.50-$13.50 per hour. Below are summaries of each position.

Learning Center Reception Assistants

Reception assistants help run the daily operations of the Learning and Tutorial Center. Duties include greeting and referring students, answering phones, processing tutoring requests, scheduling appointments, and data entry. Other office tasks include filing, email correspondence, photo copying, and running errands. Students who have been awarded Federal Work Study are given preference during the hiring process.

Advertising Assistant

The Advertising Assistant is responsible for working closely with Learning Center Staff to independently create an array of projects that cohesively communicate the values of the Learning Center to the campus community. Duties include designing stickers, buttons, fliers, banners, and other marketing materials using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Publisher. Other tasks may include photography and updating website content.

Hiring typically takes place at the end of spring or beginning of the fall semester. Interested candidates should submit a resume, portfolio of 3-5 pieces, a schedule of available work hours, and verification of Federal Work Study awarded. Media Assistant

The Learning Center is currently seeking media assistants to design, plan, shoot, and edit a series of promotional videos. Students interested in this project should have:

  • Video skills
  • Editing skills
  • Prior experience in video production
  • Excellent listening and communication skills

Interested candidates should submit

  • A resume
  • Two faculty references
  • A Sudent Assistant Application, and
  • A 1-2 minute reel.
